In the city of Tashkent, a major event aimed at encouraging youth creativity and scientific potential across the country was held – an award ceremony for the winners of the republican competition “Best Idea,” “Best Project,” and “Best Invention,” as well as the recipients of the “El-yurt umidi” scholarship.
Record participation and requirements of the contest
The engineering competition was carried out in three stages during May–July 2025. A total of 1,262 participants under the age of 40 took part with their ideas and developments. Projects were evaluated based on several criteria – innovative approach, practical applicability, efficiency, and contribution to sustainable development.
The contest was organized in separate categories under the directions “Student,” “Teacher,” and “Practicing Engineer.” In the end, 28 winners were determined, including special nominations.
Prizes and opportunities for the winners
- The most impressive part of the event was the awarding of prizes.
- Each first-place winner was presented with a BYD electric car.
- Those who took second place and the winner of the nomination “Best Invention for Sustainable Development” received an internship abroad with all expenses covered.
The third-place winners were awarded a cash prize of 37.5 million soums.
“El-yurt umidi” program – a part of the strategy
It was noted at the ceremony that the “El-yurt umidi” scholarship program is not just a grant, but an important link in the long-term state strategy. The goal is to prepare a generation of reformers who will implement the goals of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy.
In 2025, the scholarship competition was held based on updated requirements, and as a result, 173 young men and women were recognized as winners. Among them, 25 percent were women.
“EYUF Awards 2025” – held for the first time
This year, for the first time, the “EYUF Awards 2025” competition was also organized. The best scholarship holders were determined in 7 nominations:
- “Exemplary Scholar of the Year”
- “Best Academic Achievements of the Year”
- “Youngest Leader Scholar of the Year”
- “Exemplary Project of the Year”
- “Best Scientific Project of the Year”
- “Master of His Profession”
- “For Great Contribution to Society”
At the same time, government agencies and foreign missions that cooperated in creating opportunities for Uzbek youth were also honored with gratitude.
