Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence openly announced its readiness to engage in war with India. The ministry published this official statement on its social media page on platform X.
In its address, Pakistan threatened to destroy a specific region of India. Additionally, the ministry posted a video showing a missile launch on its page.
“Thanks, Modi (referring to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi), you have united our entire nation. Do you want war? Pakistan is ready!” the statement said.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in turn, emphasized that this situation should raise serious concerns among the international community.
“The escalation between two nuclear-armed countries like India and Pakistan poses a significant risk to the entire world. This conflict could escalate into a large-scale war,” Minister Asif warned. He also expressed hope that negotiations could resolve the existing conflict.
Reason for the escalation of tensions?
Relations between India and Pakistan sharply deteriorated on April 22 of this year. On that day, terrorists carried out a deadly attack on civilians and tourists in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir. As a result of the terrorist attack, 27 people lost their lives, including 25 Indian citizens. The Kashmir Resistance terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Following this incident, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs demanded Pakistani citizens to leave the country immediately. The Indian government accused Pakistan of supporting terrorists and implemented several strict measures. Specifically, the Attari border checkpoint between the two nations was closed. Additionally, the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty was immediately suspended.
The visa-free entry regime for Pakistani citizens was revoked, and all previously issued visas were annulled. Pakistani nationals were ordered to leave Indian territory within 48 hours. Furthermore, Pakistani military advisors were instructed to leave India within a week. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
