Russians will now need a new Schengen visa every time

The European Union has changed the procedure for obtaining a Schengen visa for Russian citizens. Russian travelers will no longer be issued multiple-entry visas - they will need to obtain a separate one-time visa for each trip.

This decision was made by the EU as part of the cancellation of the previous visa agreement with Russia and the strengthening of security measures.

Experts note that this change will complicate the travel of Russian citizens to Europe, as they will now be required to submit a new package of documents and pay a consular fee for each visit.

Previously, Russian citizens had the opportunity to obtain multiple-entry Schengen visas valid from 1 to 5 years. Now, Russians wishing to enter EU countries will have to apply again every time.

According to EU representatives, this measure was introduced taking into account the current political situation in ensuring security and diplomatic relations with Russia.
