New features introduced to help organize WhatsApp group chats

A major update has been introduced for the popular WhatsApp messenger, significantly simplifying communication in large group chats and the process of making collective decisions. According to ixbt.com, the new tools cover polling, the notification system, and group management options, aiming to eliminate the disorder users face, as Ixbt.com reports .

Changes to voting and polls

Users can now set an expiration time when creating a poll. Once the specified time has passed, voting closes automatically, and new responses no longer affect the final result. Creators can also edit the poll text within 15 minutes of publication.

An important step has also been taken to protect privacy. A special anonymous voting feature has appeared in poll settings. It completely hides from others which participant voted for which option.

Notifications and group management

The notification mechanism has also received a new format. New @all mentions will allow notifications to be sent to everyone in a group, including participants who have disabled notifications for that chat. If such messages become disruptive, users can still manage them through the app settings.

At the same time, the app has simplified the process of creating new groups based on existing ones. Instead of building a group from scratch, users can now create a separate chat with selected participants by pressing a single button.

According to the developers, these changes will help organize communication in large groups and reduce misunderstandings that arise when discussing shared matters.
