Huawei Unveils the New MateBook Pro S Laptop

China’s technology giant Huawei has officially unveiled the ultra-light and advanced MateBook Pro S laptop, capable of transforming the market. According to ixbt.com, the new device is attracting attention not only with its record-breaking lightness but also with its modern technological solutions, setting new standards in the mobile computer market. The presented laptop weighs just 798 grams, while its body is 11.9 millimeters thick. These specifications were achieved using a special magnesium-lithium alloy without compromising durability. For cooling, an ultra-thin bladed fan made of aluminum alloy was developed and adapted to the ultra-compact body.

Display and Performance Capabilities

The device features a 14.2-inch touchscreen pOLED display with a 3.1K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. One of the variants uses a flexible OLED screen for the first time in the industry, featuring a special privacy function that makes on-screen information harder to see from the side.

The new Kirin XE90 SoC processor was chosen as the foundation of the MateBook Pro S. According to Huawei, its chip architecture improves single-threaded performance by 23 percent, energy efficiency by 25 percent and neural network capabilities by as much as 40 percent compared with the previous generation. The system’s maximum rated power is only 20 watts.

Battery Life and Pricing

The laptop is equipped with a battery rated at 54 W·soat, while the package includes a 66 vattlik USB-C charger. For connecting external devices, it has two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports with speeds of 5 Gbit/s, and the manufacturer promises up to 18 hours of continuous battery life.

The device runs on the HarmonyOS operating system and supports Ark Engine and Xiaoyi AI technologies. Laptop sales have already begun in China, with the base version available at the following prices:

• Base version with 16 GB of RAM and 542 GB SSD storage — 7999 yuan (approximately 1182 dollars);
• 24 GB / 512 GB version — 8999 yuan (approximately 1329 dollars);
• 24 GB / 1 TB version — 10 499 yuan (approximately 1551 dollars);
• Top-tier Collector's Edition (32 GB / 1 TB) — 14 999 yuan (approximately 2216 dollars).
