Astronomer says when Russians will be able to see the red Moon

The rare phenomenon—the red Moon—will be visible from nearly all regions of Russia on the evening of 31 December 2028. This was reported by astronomer and astrophysicist Dmitriy Vibe.
According to the press service of the Moscow Planetarium, during the partial lunar eclipse on 28 August, almost the entire disk of the Moon will take on a reddish hue. The phenomenon will occur at approximately 07:00 Moscow time, when more than 90 percent of the Moon’s diameter will be in Earth’s shadow.
According to the astronomer, the red Moon will grace the sky on 31 December 2028—New Year’s Eve. It will be possible to observe it from almost any location in Russia, including Moscow and the Moscow region.
The reddish Moon will be visible in the skies over Eastern Europe, Asia and Australia. Vibe noted that conditions for observing it are expected to be highly favorable. The red Moon will even be visible in Russia’s Kaliningrad region.
“The phenomenon will occur approximately between 19:00 and 20:00. The Moon will be in the eastern part of the sky, well above the horizon. Therefore, it will be clearly visible to the naked eye,” the astronomer said.
