Doctors recommend drinking 1-2 glasses of yogurt daily. According to Russian gastroenterologist Yevgeny Belousov, yogurt is not only a delicious drink for the human body, but also an important source for maintaining healthy intestinal microflora.
According to the expert, the greatest importance of yogurt is associated with the probiotic bacteria in its composition. They balance the beneficial microflora in the intestines, facilitate the digestion process, help the body better absorb nutrients, and strengthen the immune system.
Yogurt is also beneficial for people experiencing problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, or diarrhea. For those who have difficulty digesting lactose, it is a lighter option and is absorbed much better than milk.
"The yogurt contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, B vitamins - especially B12 and riboflavin, as well as vitamin K2. All of them are very important for the functioning of the nervous system, bone strength, and the condition of the skin," said Belousov.
According to the doctor, yogurt also has antioxidant properties, strengthens bones, prevents osteoporosis, and helps maintain weight control.
However, for some people, yogurt should be consumed with caution. For example:
- for those with lactose intolerance or allergies to dairy products, it can have adverse effects;
- elderly people or people with weakened immune systems should consult a doctor before regularly taking it.
Belousov recommends drinking 1-2 glasses of yogurt per day. To get maximum benefit from it, yogurt should be added to the diet several times a week and used along with a balanced diet.
So, yogurt is not just a simple dairy product, but a natural helper for a healthy lifestyle. But, as with everything, it is necessary not to forget about quantity and correspondence.
