An Uzbek woman deceived Muscovites for millions of rubles by claiming to be Shoigu's relative

Law enforcement agencies in Moscow are investigating Uzbek citizen Shere Shoigu and his wife, who took his surname, on suspicion of fraud. It is said that they may have embezzled more than 100 million rubles under the pretext of investing in the cryptocurrency exchange. Said Yarahmedov, the lawyer of the three victims, told TASS about this.

He emphasized that the number of deceived Muscovites and the amount of stolen money are likely to be twice what is currently calculated.

"We have submitted an application to law enforcement agencies to investigate and initiate criminal proceedings against Shere Shoigu and her husband in connection with the fraud committed by changing their surnames," said the victims' defense counsel.

According to the data, this is about deceiving Muscovites by promising to invest in the cryptocurrency exchange. 27-year-old Sherekhon Usmanova changed her passport details to Shere Shoygu, introduced herself as the niece of Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoygu, and disappeared with the victims' money.

"So far, the damage caused by the criminals' actions is estimated at around 100 million rubles, but the number of episodes and the total amount of damage may double," lawyer Yarakhmedov noted.
