An unusual case related to renting housing in Tashkent has been identified and has sparked widespread discussion on social media. As a result of monitoring conducted by the State Tax Committee through the electronic system "E-ijara," it became known that a total of 35 citizens were registered in an apartment with an area of 24 square meters.
During the analysis, it was revealed that the owner of this apartment had an official lease agreement with two students, but each of them had only 0.5 square meters of land. Nevertheless, each of them paid 1.5 million soums per month for rent.
The most surprising thing is that an additional 33 people are registered at this address. As a result, there was an average of 0.7 square meters of housing per citizen. Tax authorities called this figure "less than the area of a furniture table."
Experts emphasize that, according to current social norms, the minimum living space for one person should be at least 16 square meters. Therefore, this situation is not only contrary to legal norms, but also dangerous from the point of view of human health and safety.
According to the State Tax Committee, such cases have been increasing recently. Some homeowners have been registering multiple individuals at the same address through the "E-ijara" system for the purpose of artificial registration or tax evasion.
