Due to the sudden cold spell in Tashkent, many residents are asking questions about the date when the heating system will be turned on. According to current legislation, the heating season for apartment buildings begins when the average daily outdoor temperature drops below 8 degrees Celsius and is maintained at that level for five consecutive days.
The decision regarding this is made by the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city administrations based on information from meteorological services. It was reported earlier that the central heating system in social facilities is planned to be turned on from November 3, 2025, and for apartment buildings from November 5, 2025.
According to “Veolia Energy Tashkent”, the process of turning on the heating system will be carried out gradually, meaning not in all areas at the same time. This is done to prevent system overloads, but nevertheless, it is impossible to completely eliminate emergency situations.
In the first days after the heating system is turned on, issues such as old pipes bursting, radiator leaks, and flooding in entrance hallways are frequently observed. This is especially relevant for houses with outdated communications.
Residents are advised to regularly monitor the condition of radiators and pipes and to contact emergency services immediately if any signs of leakage are detected. Meanwhile, requests to turn on the heating from residents are increasing in the central dispatcher service’s Telegram group for communal issues (“1055”).
Yesterday, in some areas—including the Kushbegi district, Kodisheva 1st quarter, Rakat mahalla, Sergeli 7, Qarkamish 1/2 and 2/4, Dostlik-1 (Yangihayot), and Yunusabad-4—the heating system was partially turned on. As of now, apartment buildings remain cold.
Most importantly, there should be no power outages until the heating system is turned on. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
