At the famous Madrid club “Real”, internal disagreements have begun to arise. According to reports from Sport.es, the first serious disagreements are being observed between club president Florentino Perez and head coach Xabi Alonso.
According to the information, during one of the recent meetings, the club’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup was discussed, and that’s when a complicated situation emerged. Perez expressed strong dissatisfaction with the team’s 0–4 loss in the semifinal against PSG.
At the same time, coach Xabi Alonso emphasized the need to seriously strengthen the team and pointed out a serious lack in the central midfield position. He asked the management to carry out real purchases for this position.
However, even in transfer policy, the views of the president and the coach did not align. Perez insisted on bringing in a player of the level of Manchester City’s star Rodri, but such a large-scale transfer is currently considered quite difficult to execute. Therefore, Alonso proposed more realistic options — Stuttgart player Angelo Stiller, Inter’s Nicolo Barella, and AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit.
Unfortunately, these candidates were also not approved by Perez for certain reasons. This further clearly revealed the differences in the club’s selection policy.
Let us remind you that under Xabi Alonso's management, “Real” reached the semifinals of this year’s FIFA Club World Cup but suffered a heavy defeat to PSG. According to the tournament regulations, a match for third place was not held.
Among fans, this situation has caused major discussions. Especially, there have been various speculations about the future of the team and whether Xabi Alonso will stay in the club long-term. How the agreements between the president and the coach will conclude will undoubtedly have a big impact on the team's success next season. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
