Gullit warns of overexertion risk for Yamal

Ruud Gullit has expressed serious concerns regarding young stars. The Dutch legend has issued a warning to Barcelona and the Spanish national team about a dangerous trend involving Lamine Yamal.

He emphasized that a player who is only 18 years old constantly participating in high-level games could lead to negative consequences. Gullit believes this situation increases the risk of long-term injuries.

"This is not normal. The team relies on him too much, but he is still very young. I am seriously worried that he could get injured because they are playing him in almost every game. It's easy to say 'he's young, he'll cope'. But we have already seen this with Pedri and Gavi," he said.

Gullit believes that overexerting young players has a serious impact on their physical condition and makes the recovery process much more difficult.

Meanwhile, Yamal's statistics this season are truly astonishing. He has participated in 44 matches across all competitions, standing out with 23 goals and 18 assists.

In short, the talent is there – that's a fact. But managing it correctly is just as important. Otherwise, it could easily turn into a 'burnout' scenario.
