Motorists in Uzbekistan have once again raised concerns about long queues at the technical inspection test site in Piskent, Nova24.uz reported. The State Center for Scientific Testing and Quality Control (UzTest) responded to the situation.
From March 20 to 25, the electronic queue system received an unusually high number of requests from identical IP addresses, overloading the platform. Scammers exploited the situation by allegedly selling queue slots. Social media posts claimed people were asked to pay up to 10 million soums to skip the line.
UzTest denied these claims, stating that the official certification fees are 5.6 million soums for gasoline and hybrid vehicles, and 4.48 million soums for electric cars.
IT teams are working to strengthen the booking system’s security. Citizens encountering fraud are encouraged to call 1880.
Previously, the Anti-Corruption Agency had looked into the inspection process in Piskent, following reports that certification could take up to a full day.
