
In Uzbekistan, more than 2,800 bus stops have been found non-compliant, reported upl.uz. The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection received numerous complaints from citizens and conducted selective inspections. As a result, over 2,800 bus stops were found to be below required standards.
Details include:
• 286 lacked protection from heat and cold;
• 210 were occupied by commercial vendors;
• 387 lacked facilities for the disabled;
• 412 had no lighting systems;
• 57 lacked weather protection;
• 156 had no signage with stop names;
• 255 did not display bus route numbers.
According to standards, bus stops must be sheltered on three sides, provide 1 m² per four passengers, include ramps for disabled access, a bench for every 10 m², trash bins inside and out, lighting, and no advertising.
