About 60 Uzbek citizens were returned to their Homeland from Iran via Turkmenistan
Due to the complicated situation in the Middle East, a number of countries, including Uzbekistan, are actively taking measures to safely return their citizens to their Homeland.

According to the “Dunyo” news agency, in this situation, at the initiative of the Turkmenistan leadership, this country provided its territory for transit purposes and showed activity in providing international humanitarian aid.

It is noted that, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, round-the-clock operational headquarters have been established at the country’s diplomatic missions in Tehran and Ashgabat. The operational headquarters are implementing comprehensive measures to return Uzbek citizens in Iran to their Homeland via Turkmenistan.

“The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tehran is constantly maintaining communication and coordination work to ensure the safe movement of our compatriots. Our embassy in Ashgabat, in cooperation with Turkmen officials, is effectively organizing the meeting of citizens at the border, resolving visa and transport issues, and organizing the return process to the Homeland,” the message says.

It is reported that to date, a total of about 60 Uzbek citizens have been returned to their Homeland from Iran via Turkmenistan.

The “Dunyo” publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in turn, notes that these measures once again confirm the close neighborliness and solidarity between the countries of the region in foreign policy and that not a single citizen of Uzbekistan will be left without attention.
