Crypto PACs back new candidates after Texas victory

In the Texas primaries, six candidates supported by the cryptocurrency industry won their bids for the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. Political Action Committees (PACs) such as Fairshake, Defend American Jobs, and Protect Progress announced that following these results, they will more aggressively support leaders who favor crypto-policy in the future. This is reported by Cointelegraph.com .

According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), crypto-focused PACs spent a total of over $10 million on advertising and media campaigns for these six candidates. Notably, the Fairshake committee reported having over $193 million in reserves as of January. The organization plans to use these funds for pro-crypto candidates in the 2026 midterm elections as well.

Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter noted that the defeat of politicians hostile to cryptocurrencies demonstrates the industry's real impact on election results. For example, in Texas's 18th District, Democrat Christian Menefee defeated incumbent Al Green. Additionally, Republican candidates such as Ken Paxton, Tom Sell, and Alex Mealer also achieved success with the support of the crypto industry.

The next election processes will continue in California, Iowa, New Jersey, and several other states. Currently, the Protect Progress committee has allocated nearly $500,000 to support Democratic candidates in these states. Industry representatives are closely monitoring the results of candidates like Katie Porter, who is running for the California governorship and was previously known as a crypto-critic.
