Happiness level of Uzbek families records high indicators

Reforms aimed at strengthening the family institution and improving the well-being of the population in our country are yielding results. The Research Institute for Family and Gender conducted a large-scale sociological study, which showed that the sense of happiness in Uzbek families is increasing year by year.

Scope and methodology of the study

In a survey conducted in March-April of this year, covering the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent, and all regions, 12,697 respondents participated. The status of families was assessed based on a special integral index consisting of 8 main indicators and 21 sub-indicators. All important aspects, from economic well-being to educational opportunities, healthcare, and the importance of family values, were in focus.

Happiness Index: Sustainable growth dynamics

According to the methodology, the index is measured on a scale from -1 to +1. According to the analysis, the overall happiness index of Uzbek families in 2026 0.618 pointswas recorded. This indicator shows that the level of happiness is "high" .

For comparison, let's look at the numbers:

  • 2023: 0.560 points;

  • 2025: 0.611 points;

  • 2026: 0.618 points.

The fact that the happiness index has increased by an average of +0.058 pointsover the last four years demonstrates the stability of the positive environment in our families.

Key achievements and positive changes

Growth was recorded in almost all areas during the study:

  • Family values: This indicator remains at the highest levels — from 0.720 points in 2023 to 0.793 pointsin 2026.

  • Economic well-being: As a result of the improvement in the material condition of families, the indicator rose from 0.414 points in 2025 to 0.439 points.

  • Employment: The biggest jump was observed in this area — growth from 0.337 points in 2023 to 0.489 pointswas recorded.

  • Education and public services: Access to education 0.522 points, and satisfaction with the activities of state bodies 0.514 points, showing that citizens' trust in state reforms has increased.

  • Demographic stability: This direction 0.831 points remains the highest stability indicator.

In conclusion, the fact that the indicator of satisfaction with family life and the feeling of happiness reached 0.750 pointsis the clearest expression of the peace and joy prevailing in every household in our country.
