China's largest technology giant is entering the digital payment system of Uzbekistan

The Central Bank held important negotiations with a delegation of Tencent Cloud International, a member of the influential Chinese technology company Tencent Holdings Ltd. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The meeting discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of expanding digital technologies and creating and improving cloud infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, the parties thoroughly considered the issues of integrating Tencent's WeChat Pay digital payment system with local payment systems operating in Uzbekistan. In particular, an agreement was reached on the possibilities of making digital payments via QR codes and further expanding cooperation between the two countries in this area.

According to the Central Bank, the meeting supported bilateral initiatives in the field of payment systems and digital finance, and set specific tasks for future implementation.
