Environmental protection, nature conservation, and climate change issues are becoming increasingly important for Uzbekistan. In this regard, Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov held a meeting with one of Japan’s leading companies — Le One Co., Ltd. The company’s CEO, Haruki Yamasaki, participated as part of the visiting delegation.
During the meeting, important information was announced. It was reported that Le One Co., Ltd, supported by the Government of Japan, won an international grant worth 4 million USD, designated for the years 2025–2030. This grant was provided by the Japan Organization for Energy and Industrial Development and aims to promote advanced Japanese technologies in the fields of decarbonization and green energy globally.
This project has enormous importance for Uzbekistan. As part of the initiative, it is planned to build a pilot plant for producing methane from biogas obtained through the processing of biological waste. This plant not only creates an opportunity to recycle waste but also allows the generation of alternative energy in the form of produced methane.
Furthermore, the project can help solve several pressing environmental problems, including:
- reducing greenhouse gas emissions,
- safe disposal of waste,
- production of biohumus for agriculture,
- implementation of a deep-cleaning system based on Japanese standards without the use of chemicals.
A notable point is that hybrid circulation technology will be implemented in the project. This technology will help save resources in waste management. In other words, it is possible to achieve sustainable development goals while reducing energy consumption.
Japan’s initiative holds strategic significance for Uzbekistan. It will not only strengthen bilateral cooperation but also become a key factor in the country’s gradual transition to a low-carbon economy.
In conclusion, this project represents one of the important steps toward environmental protection, energy conservation, and ecological safety. Therefore, it is expected that such initiatives will increase in the coming years and that the technologies involved will become more widespread. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
