76-year-old Olga Ivanovna from Nizhny Novgorod has unexpectedly become an internet star. Despite being retired, she has achieved great success in modern esports and the streaming world, reports Peopletalk.
In 2021, her grandson gave her a touchscreen smartphone. Through this, Olga discovered people online who were playing video games and broadcasting the process live.
Inspired, she decided to start streaming as well. Once she had worked as a catering engineer, but in retirement she found a new hobby to avoid boredom.
Olga Ivanovna became popular thanks to her Counter Strike streams, but she also plays Minecraft, Tomb Raider, Metro, Bioshock, Atomic Heart and Diablo 2.
Now her channel has more than 220,000 subscribers, and each of her streams is watched by about 450 viewers on average.
With the help of her audience, she earns around 100,000 rubles a month. This money has not only covered her personal needs, but also helped to pay off her family’s debts. In addition, her followers helped her fulfill her dream at the age of 73 — to skydive.
Olga Ivanovna has shown by her own example that “retirement is not the end of life, but the beginning of a new chapter.” Her story proves that not only in Russia, but all over the world, elderly people can master new technologies and hobbies.
