New gadget to help maintain posture at your desk

Working from home comes with its own set of challenges: pets demanding attention, back pain from sitting for long periods, or forgetting to move. While there are various apps to monitor posture, they are easy to ignore. The device named Isa, created by the German startup Deep Care, takes a completely different approach to this problem. According to Techcrunch.com reports.

The Isa device works without a camera or internet connection, which is a significant advantage for users who value privacy. Featuring a 5.5-inch IPS HD screen, this gadget charges via USB-C and uses a Time-of-Flight (ToF) 3D sensor to monitor the user's posture and movements. The device also analyzes room lighting, noise, temperature, humidity, and CO₂ levels.

The device screen features a special ring that indicates posture; it turns yellow or red when sitting incorrectly. This visual alert, similar to Apple Watch rings, encourages the user to subconsciously correct their posture. If the user remains inactive for too long, Isa suggests standing up and doing some light exercise.

Currently, the device only supports European and US time zones, which may be slightly inconvenient for users in other regions. Nevertheless, Isa is becoming an effective assistant for monitoring posture and creating a healthy work environment without the need for a camera.
