Specialists at the S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia have prepared various design concepts for the airlock and key elements of the future lunar base throughout 2025. This was reported in the corporation's annual report. As reported by Ixbt.com .
According to the report, a scientific and technical foundation for creating components for manned spacecraft intended for the Moon was established this year. Experts presented their proposals regarding structural variants of the airlock and other critical parts of the base.
Energia Corporation is Russia's leading rocket and space enterprise and the primary developer of all manned spacecraft in the country. As the direct successor to the legendary OKB founded by Sergey Korolev, the corporation has been creating Soyuz and Progress spacecraft for decades.
The corporation is also the creator of the Salyut and Mir orbital stations, the Russian segment of the International Space Station, and the most significant space projects in the history of the USSR and Russia. Now, this experience is being directed toward implementing the lunar program.
