Uzbekistan's passport's position in the world ranking has been revealed. The passport ranked 72nd in the updated Henley Index, compiled based on data from the International Air Transport Association and reflecting the number of countries citizens can enter without a visa. This indicator reflects the degree of freedom of travel for document holders more deeply, as the index takes into account the practical possibilities directly related to the requirements for crossing the border.
According to the ranking, Uzbek citizens have the right to visa-free entry to 62 countries. This number creates a favorable environment for tourism, business trips, and short-term travel, greatly facilitating the preparation of road plans in advance. At the same time, it should be noted that the visa-free regime is not always a guarantee of entry, and migration rules and additional requirements at the border remain.
Singapore took the lead on the list, whose citizens can visit 193 countries without a visa. Japan and South Korea took second place - 190 routes each. The effectiveness of diplomatic relations, air travel coverage, and border procedures of these countries keeps them at the top of the ranking.
Among the countries of Central Asia, Kazakhstan became the holder of the "strongest" passport: Kyrgyzstan - 71, Uzbekistan - 72, Tajikistan - 78, Turkmenistan - 84. In addition, Kazakhstan surpassed Azerbaijan (66), Armenia (69), and Mongolia (70). This comparison further clarifies the map of travel freedom in the region and shows the differences in consular policies and bilateral agreements of each country.
Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria completed the list. This once again confirms how factors such as security, international relations, and migration policies can affect passport capabilities. The number of visa-free destinations remains limited for countries in the lower part of the index, which requires more thorough preparation of travel plans.
It should also be noted that the Henley Index is constantly updated, as visa regimes between countries may change, new agreements may be signed, or temporary restrictions may be introduced. Therefore, it would be the right decision to re-check the requirements of consular and border services before the trip.
In conclusion: 72nd place and 62 visa-free destinations are an important step towards the current freedom of travel. New agreements with agencies and official structures, as well as the expansion of transport logistics, may further improve these indicators in the future. The most important thing for a traveler is to clearly define the plan, keep documents ready, and constantly update practical information.
