Residents of Tashkent city are concerned about the rising price of mackerel at city markets. Users in the Facebook group "Potrebitel.uz" reported that at Mirabad (formerly Hospital) market, the price of smoked mackerel jumped from 120,000 to 175,000–200,000 UZS, and frozen mackerel increased from 90,000 to 150,000 UZS.
Other users under this post pointed out that fish prices range between 160,000 and 195,000 UZS. One woman recalled that earlier she had bought smoked mackerel at the "Aviasozlar" (formerly Kadisheva) market for 58,000 UZS.
According to users, four mackerels were purchased for 420,000 UZS at the Alay market.
