In the Israeli-controlled West Bank, the establishment of new settlements by Jewish settlers has accelerated. According to international sources, small settlements built in these areas gradually turn into large residential communities. Experts say this process is hindering the creation of a Palestinian state.
Local Palestinian families are being forced to leave their homes due to attacks by settlers. In some areas, houses have been burned and livestock taken away. The United Nations reported that in 2025, hundreds of Palestinians were injured as a result of such attacks.
According to reports, 80 new illegal settlements have appeared in the West Bank this year. The Israeli government later grants official status to some of these settlements. Government officials link this policy to security concerns, while international organizations criticize it.
The international community says that settlements in the West Bank violate international law. Human rights groups say that serious action is not taken in many cases of attacks carried out by settlers.
