
In 2025, Catalonia's "Barcelona" football club replicated a remarkable achievement that had only been recorded once before. Under the management of Hansi Flick, the team scored in every match played in the league throughout the calendar year.
This included a total of 37 matches, during which they secured 31 victories and scored 102 goals. The last time "Barcelona" finished all championship matches in a calendar year without failing to score was in 1943.
At that time, much of Europe had little focus on football due to the circumstances of the era, and there were fewer matches played—25, compared to the current 37. Notably, the Catalan club currently sits four points ahead of Madrid's "Real" in the tournament standings.
