
Due to unfavorable weather conditions observed in some regions of Uzbekistan, several international flights were diverted to Samarkand International Airport as an alternative airfield. This was reported by the press service of JSC "Uzbekistan Airports."
According to reports, a sharp decrease in fog and visibility at some airports affected flight safety. Therefore, the crews decided to prioritize safety and direct flights to Samarkand.
In particular, the Moscow-Bukhara flight landed in Samarkand due to visibility dropping to 650 meters at Bukhara airport. The plane landed at 03:27 local time.
The St. Petersburg-Urgench flight was diverted to Samarkand due to visibility at Urgench Airport decreasing to 200 meters, and landing took place at 06:17. Also, the Moscow-Termez flight landed in Samarkand at 06:03 due to fog and restrictions in Termez.
In addition, the Moscow-Bukhara flight (SU1876) was redirected to Samarkand due to the reduction in visibility in Bukhara by 300 meters. This aircraft landed at 06:36.
In another case, on the Istanbul-Namangan flight, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Samarkand International Airport due to the deterioration of the health of one of the passengers. Landing took place at 05:53.
