Mykhailo Mudryk Could Play Against Juventus

Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk joined the team’s tour of Hong Kong after his suspension was lifted and is ready to play against Juventus. Goal.com reports that, after the player’s doping case was resolved positively and he returned to training, head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed he could use Mudryk’s services. This was reported by Goal.com reports reports.
The Ukrainian was temporarily suspended after meldonium was detected, and his last appearance came in November 2024, when he scored against Heidenheim in the Conference League. Following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the ban was lifted. He took part in an open training session on Tuesday and received applause from local fans.
Return to Action and Fitness
At a press conference held at Kai Tak Stadium, head coach Xabi Alonso expressed his delight at Mudryk’s return to the squad, while stressing that the winger would need some time to regain full fitness. According to Alonso, the player joined the team directly from the airport at the hotel and shared his emotions with his teammates."We trained yesterday. Yes, he can play; it is probably still too early for 90 minutes, but he can be included in the squad and he can play," said Xabi Alonso. The coach added that Mudryk’s condition would be managed very carefully, taking into account that Mykhailo had trained individually for a long time.
Transfer Interest and the Future
Although the player’s current contract with Chelsea runs for another five years, his future remains uncertain. Three Premier League clubs, including Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, have made contact to explore a loan move for the Ukrainian winger. Alonso said no final decision had been made and that the situation required a special approach.Meanwhile, Chelsea have strengthened their coaching staff with Aston Villa set-piece specialist Austin MacPhee. New signing Danny Welbeck is also in contention to feature against Juventus. Mudryk aims to regain match fitness through pre-season games and reach peak form before Chelsea’s Premier League campaign begins against Fulham on 24 August.
