Almost one million tourists from abroad came to Uzbekistan in January

According to the National Statistics Committee, a total of 950,278 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourist purposes in January 2026.
It is noted that this figure increased by 271.6 thousand people or 40 percent compared to the same period last year. That is, the first month of the new year showed a "revival" in tourism.
The TOP-10 countries with the most tourists are as follows:
1. Kyrgyz Republic - 282,798 people
2. Tajikistan - 244,373 people
3. Kazakhstan - 207,858 people
4. Russia - 69,070 people
5. Afghanistan - 43,572 people
6. Turkmenistan - 28,150 people
7. China - 25,666 people
8. Turkey - 12,740 people
9. India - 6,095 people
10. Republic of Korea - 3,237 people
The figures show that the main tourist flow falls on neighboring countries - and this is natural: the road is close, the arrival and departure are fast, and the visits are frequent. At the same time, the flow from distant countries (China, Turkey, India, Korea) means that the geography of tourism may expand further in the coming months.
Now the main task is one: to strengthen this growth with quality of service, logistics and infrastructure, without letting it become a "one-month boom". Then the numbers may increase even more in February-March.
