The rules for displaying the national flag have been further clarified

The main goal of the amendments and additions to the law “On the State Flag” is one: to further clarify the procedure for using and displaying the state flag, to introduce uniform requirements throughout the country. That is, no matter which region you are in, the flag must be displayed according to the same rules and with the same respect.

According to the draft law, the state flag of Uzbekistan, as a symbol of sovereignty and statehood, must be displayed in each place in accordance with the established rules. In particular, the issue of placing the flag vertically without a handle will be clearly defined for the first time. This will eliminate the frequent disputes in practice about “how to hang it, which way to turn it”.

The draft also provides for the separate approval of a schematic and color image of the state flag, as well as its display in a vertical form without a handle. This means that the rule will become a “standard” not only in the text, but also in the official image.

Another of the most important innovations is the clarification of the requirements for placing the flag in the meeting rooms of local government bodies, diplomatic missions, and offices. It is required that the flag be placed in a central place that is clearly visible to participants, and that its fabric does not touch the ground. If several flags are displayed, it is envisaged that the state flag will be placed in the center or on the right.

The order will also be stricter at public events. For example, at events held in a line-up order, it is stipulated that the state flag will be placed at the front of the line. The most critical point: it is forbidden to carry the state flag after other flags. That is, the state symbol is always in front - this is both meaning and respect.

When hung vertically on a wall or structure, another specific requirement is imposed: the crescent moon and stars must be located in the upper right corner. It is also necessary that the flag fabric does not touch the ground. Hanging the flag upside down, spoiling its aesthetic appearance, placing objects on it, or showing disrespect is strictly prohibited. That is, it is required to view it not as a “decoration,” but as a “symbol.”

The draft also establishes a subtle but important procedure for respecting individual people. The procedure for placing the state flag over the coffin of individuals who have made a worthy contribution to the development of the state and society, military personnel, and law enforcement officers who die in the line of duty is clearly indicated. This is the official and only standard of respect from the state.

The initiators of the draft law emphasize that these changes will serve to ensure legal stability in the use of state symbols, strengthen national unity, and further increase respect for state symbols.

In short, instead of misunderstandings about the flag, "which side is higher, where should we put it", there is now a clear rule, a single standard and a uniform culture. Respect for the state symbol is also respect for the state, the nation and ourselves.
