Turkey’s famous club Fenerbahçe is planning to strengthen its attacking line with a new star. According to “Fotomaç”, the team aims to sign Karim Benzema before the end of the current season.
Sources say head coach Domenico Tedesco informed club president Sadettin Saran that a new striker is needed to increase attacking efficiency. This demand arises due to Youssef En-Nesyri’s unstable form, John Duran’s injury, and Cenk Tosun’s exclusion from the squad.
Among the discussed candidates, Karim Benzema was chosen as the main option. The French forward’s contract with Al-Ittihad expires at the end of this season, which would make the transfer process much easier.
According to reports, Fenerbahçe’s management plans to contact Benzema’s agents in the coming weeks. If negotiations go positively, the transfer will proceed officially.
Earlier, the 37-year-old Benzema stated that he wanted to spend the final stage of his career in Europe. This could be a big opportunity for Fenerbahçe — signing an experienced striker would significantly boost their title ambitions.
Turkish media note that if Benzema joins Fenerbahçe, he would become one of the most prestigious forwards in the club’s history. Negotiations have not yet begun, but the Istanbul side remains firm in its intention.
