Russia removes major computer brands from parallel import list
In brief

Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced changes to its parallel import list, removing major computer brands such as Acer, Asus, HP, and Intel. The ministry assures that this reduction will not lead to shortages of computers and components in the domestic market. The new regulations, effective from May 27, 2026, are expected to boost demand for local electronics products and strengthen the position of domestic manufacturers in the market.

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) has commented on changes made to the parallel import list. The ministry stated that the reduction of the list will not lead to a shortage of computers and components in the domestic market. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.

The new document was approved on November 26, 2025, and will come into effect in six months, on May 27, 2026. According to it, computers, laptops, and servers from brands such as "Acer", "Asus", "Fujitsu", "HP", "Hitachi", "IBM", "Intel", "Kingston", "Samsung", and "Toshiba" will be removed from the parallel import mechanism.

Ministry representatives believe that this decision will not reduce the range of equipment available in retail. On the contrary, this step is expected to increase demand for local radio-electronic products.

It was also noted that this change will serve to develop the Russian electronics industry and strengthen the market position of local manufacturers.
