Wispr Flow May Launch an AI-Powered Meeting Notetaker

Known as a popular dictation app, Wispr Flow is preparing to introduce a new feature for recording online meetings and calls, according to the latest changes to its terms of service. This move is expected to mark an important step for the company beyond correcting dictated text toward more broadly automating users’ daily workflows. As Techcrunch.com reports .

According to ixbt.com, the startup sent official letters to customers informing them about changes to its privacy policy and terms of use. An examination of the updated documents revealed sections on processing meeting data and a notetaker service expected to launch in the future.

New Feature Capabilities

According to the company, the upcoming AI tool will analyze participants’ voices, audio recordings, metadata, and speaker labels to create a full transcription. It will also be able to generate concise summaries of topics discussed during meetings, task lists, and key analytical findings.

Once launched, the new feature is expected to make Wispr Flow a major competitor to popular existing meeting notetaker services such as Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter, and Fathom. Earlier, company co-founder Tanay Kothari said in interviews that the company intended to build a universal AI assistant to help users.

Financial Performance and Prospects

To date, Wispr Flow has raised more than $81 million in funding. In the latest funding round, the company was valued at $700 million. According to Bloomberg reports from May, the startup was negotiating a new funding round that could increase its valuation to $2 billion.

Nevertheless, the exact format of the new feature remains confidential. It is not yet clear whether the app will offer a lightweight Granola-style solution that relies on system audio to transcribe meetings without saving a separate audio recording, or a robust, full-featured meeting recording tool. Wispr Flow representatives declined to provide further comment.
