On June 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of construction and public transport projects planned for the city of Tashkent.
In recent years, due to steadily increasing investment attractiveness, construction rates in the capital have grown rapidly. Multi-storey residential buildings, hotels, business centers, cultural and sports complexes are expanding the city’s opportunities. Construction of New Tashkent has also begun, with both cities turning into a modern metropolis.
In such long-term projects, quality is crucial. A meeting on this topic was held on May 13. The President emphasized that quality and safety in construction must come first and gave instructions to develop the field scientifically and introduce modern approaches.
At today’s presentation, information was provided about the work done in this area. According to the assignment, the compliance of newly designed multi-storey buildings with safety requirements has been re-examined. Scientific and technical opinions from about 10 organizations, including “UzGASHKLITI”, the Seismology Institute of the Academy of Sciences, the Emergency Management Department, and sanitary-epidemiological services, were obtained. According to the new requirements, the earthquake resistance of multi-storey buildings must be at least 9 points. Summary conclusions are drawn for each such project.
As the number of skyscrapers and new complexes increases, stable electricity supply becomes necessary. Therefore, it is planned to build a new 160-megawatt substation in the Chilanzar district. This will provide additional capacity for future projects in the area and reduce the load on current networks.
It is also planned to build a water reservoir with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters in this district. As a result, uninterrupted drinking water supply will be ensured in Shaykhantakhur, Chilanzar, and Uchtepa districts. About 8,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity will be saved daily.
Tashkent hosts many business events, forums, and exhibitions. One of these locations is the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan — CAEx complex. Taking into account various meetings within the framework of international conferences, the construction of negotiation halls is planned here.
Another important factor for the city's attractiveness is convenient public transport. Both bus and metro routes in the capital are being steadily expanded.
As previously reported, it is planned to extend the metro to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area. This will be done in two stages. In the first stage, a surface metro line along the Chilanzar route will be built from Pushkin station to the Tashkent Ring Road. In the second stage, an underground line will be built from there to the main station of the tractor plant.
For convenience, it is planned to run this railway under the Tashkent Ring Road. The underground route will also be constructed so as not to stop traffic on the street. This new metro line is expected to serve 85,000 passengers.
Another promising project in this field is the metro line to New Tashkent. It will start from the current “Do‘stlik” metro station and reach the new center. This metro, expected to be 21 kilometers long with 9 stations, will be able to serve up to 230,000 passengers daily.
The presentation reviewed the technical and economic aspects of these projects. The President gave instructions to improve construction quality and culture, and to create convenient conditions for people. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
