President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that in the final months of the year he will pay working visits to a number of important states. According to him, Uzbekistan is also included among the destinations of his trip. He stated this on September 8 during his address to the nation.
In his speech, Tokayev noted that this year he will participate in the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he will present Kazakhstan’s position on international relations. He emphasized that the role and influence of the UN in global issues still remain significant.
“At the end of the year, I will visit Russia and Uzbekistan. In addition, we are preparing to host the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkmenistan in Astana. Meetings with the heads of several Asian and European countries are also planned,” said Tokayev.
The head of state also stressed that dialogue between Kazakhstan and the United States is becoming increasingly active, while cooperation with the European Union is strengthening in a wide range of areas.
In his speech, the President recalled the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, describing it as “the main institutional expression of the results of the Second World War.” In this regard, he emphasized that reforming the organization has become an urgent and pressing task.
“In the near future, I plan to speak at the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly in New York. There I will present Kazakhstan’s views on the international situation, including proposals for reforming the United Nations,” Tokayev added.
According to experts, Tokayev’s visits may serve as an impetus for further activation of political cooperation and international dialogue in the region.
