At today’s meeting, the President of Uzbekistan discussed the development of trade unions and the improvement of labor relations. According to the head of state, as the economy continues to grow steadily, the standard of living of the population must improve accordingly.
The President noted that although the minimum wage is being increased every year, this process often relies solely on government calculations, so the participation of all interested parties is necessary. Therefore, starting next year, the Tripartite Republican Commission on Social and Labor Issues — including the Federation of Trade Unions, the Ministry of Employment, and the Confederation of Employers — will be fully involved in drafting the relevant legislation.
According to the President, this will mark an important new stage in protecting workers’ interests when setting the minimum wage. “The value of a person is determined not only by their salary but also by the social environment around them,” the President said.
He also emphasized the need to create decent living conditions for every citizen — providing housing, quality education, healthcare, and transportation. This, he added, is not only about increasing income sources but also about ensuring a stable and humane social environment.
The President stressed that reforming labor relations, strengthening trade unions, and ensuring equal protection of workers’ and employers’ interests are the foundation of the country’s socio-economic stability.
With this new initiative, the balance between the state, employers, and workers is expected to become stronger, and every person’s labor will be fairly valued.
