In Uzbekistan, more than 177,000 deaths were recorded in 2025

According to data provided by the Statistics Agency, in 2025 the deaths of 177,104 citizens were registered across the country. This figure is 2,700 higher compared to 2024.

It is reported that 55.1 percent of the deceased were men (97.5 thousand), and 44.9 percent were women (81.4 thousand). 54.1 percent of deaths were recorded among the urban population, and 45.9 percent among the rural population.

In the analysis, the main cause remains unchanged: diseases of the circulatory system, that is, cardiovascular diseases, still rank first. In 2025, more than 104 thousand people died precisely due to these diseases. Next among the causes of death were neoplasms, respiratory diseases, and other illnesses.

By regions, the highest figures were recorded in Samarkand region (19,670), Fergana region (18,695), and Tashkent region (16,984). In Tashkent city, 16,926 citizens died during the year. The lowest figures were recorded in Syrdarya region (4,624) and Navoi region (4,781).

At the same time, average life expectancy in the country continues to increase: if in 1991 this indicator was 66.4 years, by 2024 it had reached 75.1 years. It is reported that by 2030 the goal is to raise average life expectancy to 78 years.

In short, the numbers are heavy, but the conclusion is clear: prevention, timely check-ups, and a healthy lifestyle are the strongest investment for “tomorrow”. Life is not statistics; behind every number there is a person.
