Preparations for Ramadan: the schedule of Tarawih and "Khatmi Qur'an" has been determined

The Committee on Religious Affairs provided information on the organizational measures taken by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and relevant departments in preparation for the 2026 Ramadan. It was noted that, based on the presidential decree “On the worthy conduct of the blessed month of Ramadan,” work during the holy month will be carried out in the spirit of the idea of “Ramadan is the month of mercy, harmony and gratitude.”
One of the most important issues is the systematic organization of Tarawih prayers and “Khatmi Qur’an” events in mosques. It was reported that Tarawih prayers will be performed in 2,101 of the 2,148 mosques operating in Uzbekistan during Ramadan. Of these, 1,762 will hold full Khatmān - "Khatmi Qur'an" events. It was also reported that 3,642 talented reciters have been selected for this process.
Based on the positive experience of recent years, this year too, the "Khatmi Qur'an" events are planned to begin simultaneously in all mosques. The end is scheduled to coincide with the 27th day of Ramadan - the supposed "Night of Power." That is, both the Khatm and the general spirit are expected to proceed in the same order and rhythm.
As for the Tarawih prayers, they will begin today - February 18 - after the Isha prayer. According to the department, the start times of Tarawih will start at 20:20 in the eastern regions and will last until 21:00 in the western regions. In Tashkent region and Tashkent, Tarawih prayers are scheduled to begin at 20:30.

At the same time, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has also announced the daily distribution of the pages of the "Khatmi Qur'an" to be recited during Tarawih prayers. This is a clear answer in advance to the questions of how much to recite each day and in what order, that is, a step that will strengthen general coordination in mosques.

The issue of conducting events in an orderly and safe manner is also receiving special attention: the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Fire Safety Service will be involved to ensure public order during the Tarawih and Khatm nights. It is also noted that 2,104 special equipment will be mobilized.
In conclusion, the scale of preparations is noticeable, which indicates that this year Ramadan will be held not only in the spirit of worship, but also in the spirit of strengthening order, unity, and love. Now the most important thing is to maintain the same level of spirituality, security, and respect in every mosque.
