954 concealed crimes uncovered in Tashkent

In the city of Tashkent, large-scale inspections were conducted to identify cases of concealment of crimes during 2025. As a result, 954 decisions of internal affairs bodies that were refused to initiate criminal proceedings were recognized as illegal and canceled.

This was announced in Anvar Ormanov's year-end report. It is noted that 537 of these cases are at the city level, and 417 are at the district level. Among the concealed crimes, 23 are classified as serious, and in 3 cases, the crimes were not registered at all.

The prosecutor's office has also strengthened control over pre-investigation checks and preliminary investigations. In particular, 124 decisions on refusal to initiate criminal proceedings were overturned, and cases were sent for reconsideration.

In addition, 70 decisions on the termination or suspension of criminal cases were also recognized as illegal and returned for reconsideration.

According to statistics, a total of 30,600 crimes were registered in Tashkent in 2025, a 4.7% decrease compared to the previous year. The main part of the crimes - 16,248 - are cybercrimes.

At the same time, the number of preventable crimes also decreased and amounted to 7,681. This indicates a decrease of 13.8% compared to 2024.
