How many days will Uzbekistanis have off in May?

In May, Uzbekistan will observe additional days off in honor of the Memory and Honor Day and Eid al-Adha. Due to a presidential decree, May 9, which falls on a Saturday, will be moved to May 11, a Monday, creating a long weekend. Consequently, employees working a five-day week will enjoy three consecutive days off, while those on a six-day schedule will have two days off. Additionally, May 28 and 29 are designated as extra days off for all workers, and if Eid al-Adha falls on May 27, it could result in a continuous five-day break from May 27 to May 31.
In Uzbekistan, additional holidays will be observed in May in honor of the Day of Remembrance and Honor and Eid al-Adha. In particular, the Eid holiday may provide an opportunity for five consecutive days of rest.
According to the Presidential Decree on establishing additional non-working days and transferring holidays during the 2026 calendar year, since May 9 falls on a Saturday this year, the day off has been moved to Monday, May 11.
Accordingly, the following days are designated as holidays:
- May 9, Saturday — regular day off;
- May 10, Sunday — regular day off;
- May 11, Monday — holiday transferred due to the public holiday.
As a result, employees working a five-day week will have three consecutive days off, while those on a six-day work schedule will have two consecutive days off. Furthermore, in accordance with the same decree, regardless of the work week type, Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29, have been designated as additional non-working days for all employees. For those on a six-day work week, Saturday, May 30, is also considered a day off.
If Eid al-Adha falls on May 27 (the date may vary by one day), considering that Sunday is also a day off, Uzbekistanis may be able to enjoy five consecutive days of rest between May 27 and May 31.
