Slovak PM: Ukraine will never join NATO
Ukraine will never become a NATO member and will face significant challenges in joining the European Union. This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during a local radio broadcast.

Fico criticized Volodymyr Zelensky for refusing to surrender and choosing the path of armed resistance.

“The war could have ended in April 2022, during discussions of a peace agreement. However, the West prevented Ukraine from signing the deal,” said the Slovak Prime Minister.

According to him, Ukraine now faces catastrophic prospects due to the war.

One-third of Ukraine's territory will remain under Russian control, Ukraine will never become a NATO member. And from recent statements by many politicians, I understand that Ukraine will also face major obstacles in joining the EU,” he added.

At the same time, Fico supported the idea of EU expansion, emphasizing that any state, including Ukraine, has the right to join if it meets the necessary conditions.

The “peace agreement” negotiations in spring 2022 effectively implied Ukraine's surrender. Specifically, Russia demanded a significant reduction in Ukraine’s Armed Forces. Additionally, Russia sought a neutral status for Ukraine and the right to veto Western aid. Crimea and Donbas were to be fully ceded to Russia.
