Is political persecution rising in America?
Another scandal is shaking the U.S. political scene. Рresident Donald Trump has taken decisive action against ex-officials who criticized him. According to The Guardian, Trump ordered the Department of Justice to launch formal investigations into Miles Taylor and Chris Krebs.
This decision is based on a special presidential memorandum signed on April 9. According to the document, the investigation may focus on allegations of leaking classified information and “treasonous actions” against the president.
Miles Taylor — the face of the “resistance movement”
Miles Taylor served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security during Trump’s administration. In 2018, he published an anonymous op-ed in The New York Times, declaring himself part of a “resistance” within the White House. He later revealed his identity and published a book titled A Warning.

Donald Trump and Miles Taylor
Trump openly called him “a traitor who acts like a spy”:
“Who is this Miles Taylor? He wrote an anonymous book and spread lies. That’s treason — equal to espionage.”
Taylor responded on the social platform X:
“I warned this would happen. Expressing dissent is not a crime — and certainly not treason. America is heading down a dark path.”
Chris Krebs — the official who called the election “the safest”
The second figure under scrutiny is Chris Krebs, who led the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). After the 2020 election, he stated it was “the most secure election in U.S. history.”

Trump harshly criticized this:
“This guy said the election was the safest. No — it was a disaster. If it’s a lie, he will be held accountable.”
Trump accused Krebs of helping “rig the election” and “suppress free speech,” promising serious actions.
Conclusion: political persecution or national security?
Trump’s move has sparked heated debate in U.S. politics. Some view it as political repression, while others see it as a legitimate effort to protect national security. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
