
Two Uzbeks who introduced themselves as police officers and demanded money from a courier were detained in St. Petersburg, Russia. This was reported by the local publication 78.ru.
As it turned out, the victim was also a citizen of Uzbekistan and was engaged in courier activities. On April 21, he turned to the police and said that on the evening of April 11, two unknown individuals introduced themselves as police officers and threatened him with a weapon. They threatened the victim with opening a criminal case for drug possession and took 100 thousand rubles (about 15.5 million soums) from him.
A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery). As a result of the operational measures taken on April 21, two suspects were detained. They were also identified as citizens of Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that since March, regular raids have been launched in St. Petersburg against couriers working on electric bicycles and mopeds. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that these checks will be carried out regularly.
