41-year-old Belgian collector Steven van Dijk has created the world’s largest LEGO minifigure collection. His collection consists of 11,803 figures and has been officially registered as a Guinness World Record, reports Pravilamag.
According to Steven, LEGO minifigures are not just an expensive toy but also the joy of searching, exchanging, and displaying. The collection is so large that it cannot be kept at home, so parts of it are presented at exhibitions.
His interest in LEGO began in childhood. His first figure was a pirate with an eye patch wearing a red and black striped shirt. Since then, Steven realized that this hobby would become an essential part of his life.
His collection includes not only classic characters but also heroes from franchises such as Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Batman, and Winnie the Pooh. Among his most valuable finds is a rare British figure that was available only through a lottery. To get it, Steven waited six hours in line at a LEGO store in London.
The collector also enjoys attending LEGO conventions and events, meeting other fans around the world. “Thanks to this community, I have made many friends,” he says.
