Reports about a "controversial agreement" between Hamas and the US...

New, highly controversial information about the situation around Gaza has appeared in the Arab media. Sky News Arabia, citing a Palestinian source, reports that a certain "understanding" has been reached between Hamas and the US administration: Hamas could provide its weapons and map of tunnels in Gaza, in exchange for recognition as a political party and guarantees of protection from Israeli attacks.
According to the source, there is another important clause in the agreement: it is stipulated that the political and military leaders of Hamas can leave the Gaza Strip if they wish. At the same time, it is possible that the US will maintain the position of not striking them or other Hamas leaders abroad.
Another aspect: the reports also note Washington's readiness to include "some police officers and former Hamas employees" in the new Gaza administration, provided that security checks are conducted by Israel and the US. That is, it seems that it's not just about surrendering weapons - it's also about delicate matters like who will stay in the next management system and who will leave.
However, according to the source, the US also informed the intermediaries that Israel has "important conditions" for a number of agreements. In particular, it is emphasized that Israel opposes the idea of preserving Hamas as a political party. So, even if such an understanding exists, there are still many strong arguments, "red lines," and conditions ahead.
In short, for now, this is not an officially approved final agreement, but a chain of messages based on one source. But if the mentioned scenarios are close to reality, then it may mean that an attempt to transition to a new political format for Gaza has begun. Here's the biggest question: can the parties bring the "paper deal" to life, or will the positions still clash?
