Japan officially sent a note of protest to Pyongyang on the morning of April 19 following a new missile launch by North Korea.
The government statement assessed these actions as a serious threat to Japan's security and noted that they could negatively impact regional stability.
Tokyo also stated that it will continue to coordinate its response to the situation in cooperation with the United States and South Korea.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, several missiles were launched by North Korea, which were likely ballistic.
According to preliminary estimates, the missiles fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone, and no direct damage was reported.
