Rising temperatures have been found to be the cause of the emergence of new viruses
A warning has been issued that rising global temperatures and the rapid melting of permafrost may lead to the emergence of new, as yet unexplored viruses. This situation is likely to have unexpected and serious consequences for humanity.

Nobel laureate Rae Kwon Chung expressed his views on this issue in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The scientist noted that there is no clear information about the viruses preserved under the glaciers, and most of them have not yet been studied. He assessed this situation as an unexpected biological threat.

The expert also noted that cases of anthrax in history could serve as an example, but the future threat is likely to be even more serious.

In his opinion, such viruses may have been preserved mainly in the glaciers of the northern regions of Russia, Canada and Greenland.

According to scientific research, hundreds of different viruses are likely to become active as a result of melting glaciers, some of which could pose a serious threat to human health.
