Roskomnadzor has blocked the tracks “Who Plays How,” “Three Strings,” and “News” from Guf’s album City of Roads. This was reported by Pravilamag.
According to the report, the agency confirmed that these compositions were added to the register of banned materials. The main reason cited was the “promotion of prohibited substances” in the lyrics.
Earlier, Yekaterina Mizulina wrote on her Telegram channel that she had appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs requesting an investigation into some of Guf’s tracks. As an example, she cited the lyrics of “Who Plays How” and “Mutnye zamuty.”
In late July, it was also reported that businessman Igor Rybakov planned to purchase the album City of Roads and then destroy it. He explained his decision by saying that “such music negatively affects people in difficult conditions.”
However, Anton Pronin, the founder and CEO of Monolith Records, the label working with Guf, refused to make a deal with Rybakov.
For reference, Guf released his debut album City of Roads in 2007. It includes 17 tracks recorded together with Ptaxa, Bledniy, Ant, and other artists.
