Court fines Sardor Mamadaliyev for copyright infringement

Uzbek singer Sardor Mamadaliev has been fined for performing the songs of the late artist Sherali Juraev without proper authorization. The Ministry of Justice announced the legal action following a formal complaint regarding copyright infringement.
The investigation began after citizen G. Juraeva appealed to the ministry, stating that Mamadaliev had illegally performed the musical works "Ko'rmisham", "Bandaman", and "Karvon". These popular songs are part of the creative heritage left by the late Sherali Juraev, and their public performance requires explicit permission from the legal heirs.
Following a thorough review of the appeal, the Ministry of Justice confirmed the copyright violation. Officials drew up an administrative protocol against the singer under the Code of Administrative Responsibility and forwarded the case materials to the court for a final decision.
The Chust District Court on Criminal Proceedings in the Namangan region reviewed the case and found Mamadaliev guilty of violating copyright and related rights. As a result, the court imposed a fine of 20 times the basic calculating amount, which totals 8,240,000 soums. This case highlights the growing enforcement of intellectual property rights within the national entertainment industry.
