In the Fergana region, the activities of individuals engaged in the production of counterfeit and dubious quality medicines were stopped. As a result of an operational event conducted in cooperation between the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office’s Fergana city branch and SSS officers, hidden products being sold through pharmacies were identified.
During the inspection, 2,081 packages of “Sodium Chloride,” “Metronidazole,” and “Levofloxacin,” packaged with the labels of “R.M.” LLC registered in Syrdarya, and whose authenticity was called into question, were taken as material evidence from three pharmacies belonging to the private company “X.” in Fergana city and Tashlak district.
In the course of ongoing investigations, it was revealed that the head of “Z.A.” LLC, H.N., did not have the necessary permit to manufacture medicines and had been illegally producing “Sodium Chloride” and “Levofloxacin” in a workshop located in the “Kanjirga” neighborhood of the Tashlak district.
Investigators initiated a criminal case under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code (manufacturing and distribution of low-quality or counterfeit medicines for the purpose of selling). Investigative actions were initiated against the accused, and all material evidence was confiscated.
Officials emphasized that such cases pose a serious threat to public health, and that strict control is necessary to ensure transparency in the pharmaceutical sector. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
